Aaron Shea

Born and raised in Queens, New York, Aaron was a self taught musician and prolific songwriter. He played acoustic guitar and piano for his band, Electric Slide Show. His original music ranged from pop, to folk, to country, and veered everywhere in between.

His work is captured on a collection of home made recordings and cd’s, short video clips and on notebooks and sketch pads that survived his long battle with addiction.

While on the west coast, Aaron remained sober and played at various open mikes in the North County, San Diego area.

His song, Evolution, was featured on a fund raising CD for First Step House of North County, a free men’s detox, in hopes that it would inspire others battling addiction.

  • If I forget to be what you needed

If I let u down you know I don’t mean it

Honey you got a road to go down

I hope you don’t leave it

    If I led you on

At least you know me now

    We’re not fireworks and freedom

We not friends we’ll never be

the kind of friends that never leave each other hangin’

You were meant for me I know it

This was meant for us to blow up and start again alone

    hope u see me now

    like I see you

    falling in the rear view

    When you get cold

you know I won’t feel it

When you grow old I won’t be there to see it

So if I won’t be the man to keep you safe and warm

I’ll keep your memory here the way you are forever young

    We’re not fireworks and freedom

We not friends we’ll never be

the kind of friends that never leave each other hangin’

We were meant to be I know it

This was meant for us to blow up and start again alone

    hope you see me now

    like I see you

    falling in the rear view...

  • A little please and thank you still go A long, long way

A lot of Jesus and a little bit of Hank You can survive the day

    Where I'm from

It ain't easy being anything but genuine

Man it's real, real simple being country

    Where I'm from

The flags are down when it rains

    And the land is richer

    We thank God for rain

We all pray it doesn't flood

    But that mighty river

    Is gonna have it's way

    With all of us

Man, it's real, real easy being humble

    Where I'm from

    It's just right

    Probably just like

    Where your from

    A little friday night pigskin

    Saturday we drink it in

    Church on Sunday

Monday morning go to work again

    Thinkin' how the weekend

    Done and came and went

It ain't easy being anything but genuine

Man it's real, real simple being country

    Where I'm from

  • I’m chokin on a big big love

I’m about to give it up

I told you all I’m taking off

Would you all tell New York I tried I don’t believe like I did at one time

Cause I tried and tried and tried everything And nothing works

I’m burnin out way too young ….n fingernails …..life is anybody’s girl

Woulda known I’d run and I’d hide I didn’t make it here - I survived

Cause I tried and tried and tried everything And nothing works

I’m chokin on a big big love I’m about to give it up I told you all I’m taking off

Would you all tell New York I tried I didn’t leave like you did that one time

Cause I tried and tried and tried

Everything And nothing works I’m goin out way too young ….n Fingernails …..life is anybody’s girl

Woulda known I’d run and run I’d hide I didn’t make it here I survived

Cause I tried and tried and tried everything And nothing works

    ….these are our dancin days
