Carl Johnson
Carl was a multi-talented individual, excelling in drawing, painting, guitar playing, singing, and writing. He was originally from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada but also lived in Kitchener Waterloo, Sarnia, and Niagara Falls at different points in his life. Those who knew him in Sarnia and KW would fondly remember him playing his guitar downtown when he faced difficult times.
In 2005, Carl suffered a stroke that changed his life and required him to live in long-term care homes. Despite his disabilities and inability to play guitar or sing after the stroke, he was beloved for his intelligence, humor, and continued talents. Unfortunately, most of his pre-stroke artwork and writings were lost; only one drawing remains to showcase his abilities before the stroke. As he lost the use of his right arm and was right-handed, all other artwork shown was created with his left hand. Yet even with these challenges, he maintained his impeccable eye for perspective and attention to detail. He will always be remembered by those who interacted with him and who were entertained by his presence until his untimely passing.
