Timmy Tee Smith
Born in the north, Timmy moved to the south at a young age. He was known professionally as Tee. Inspired by legends of the music industry, Tee enjoyed conveying his messages and taste of music in a way that people could relate to.
Priding himself in writing his own lyrics, Tee understood the demeanor in which MCs and artists are often mistreated and mislabeled. He hoped to clear some of the clouded perceptions of the industry.
Tee would say,
“Being a rapper isn’t how tough your front is, how ‘gangsta’ you are, or how hard ‘your crew’ is: being a rapper is being proud of what you do, being able to see that you’ve impacted someone’s life, and feeling a sense of pride with the message you conveyed to your audience. Music isn’t just a look... Music is my life.”
