After years of working in feature film production, Andrea relocated to North Carolina in the 1990s as film production was beginning to boom in the state. Recognizing a need for technical production workers, she created a non profit incubator for emerging crew and filmmakers. This initiative program provided training as well as job opportunities on productions shooting through out the southeast. At the same time the organization was operating, Andrea went to work at DownHome Entertainment, a production and finance company and began developing and producing feature films for the independent market. Eventually, the pull of her hometown brought her back to New York, where she shifted her focus to writing, first for the screen and later for the stage. Her work earned her numerous accolades, including the IFP Emerging Narrative Award. Recently, Andrea has ventured back into the non-profit sector with the launch of The Artist Lives Gallery. This initiative showcases the work of artists who passed away unrecognized, continuing her lifelong commitment to supporting under-recognized talent in the arts.
